The collection touches on family life, rough weather, mountain farming, folklore, mountain characters, long-held Appalachian traditions, wild-crafting, and some "just pure fiction " PATCHWORK has been described by a reviewer as a "good read without the stereotypes often applied to mountain people and their culture."
