Barefoot Like The Earth is the poetry of spiritual awakening, the human journey, and the mystery of the universe.

American poet, Dakota Wint brings you his first book, Barefoot Like The Earth. The author shares his thoughts on growing up in Detroit, traveling the world, exploring psychedelic drugs, and having a spiritual awakening.

The poems inside Barefoot Like The Earth are reminiscent of 'Beatnik' poets such as Jack Kerouac or Allen Ginsberg, with a romanticization of Eastern Mysticism and backpacking. However, Barefoot Like The Earth reads as a uniquely inspiring example of modern poetry that will leave the reader with a lot to reflect upon.

Quotes from the book

"Space is a cemetery
Where everything is alive
and this is the afterlife of the stars
The sun is an egg
that'll hatch into a billion people
And those people will play music and pick flowers
they will become lovers, they will dance around fires,
eat strange plants,
and paint on rocks
and some moon with its big bald head
and pinhole friends will be there for it all"
- Dakota Wint

"Poseidon is reluctant but not dead
There's an ocean sleeping inside of your mouth
Calm storms, how they are brewing
Something is coming one day
We all know it
But pretend not to
You are happening,
Right now
Right this second,
You are happening
and it is beautiful."
- Dakota Wint

"I have become wood and fire and ashes are not the end"
- Dakota Wint
