The Prophet Muhammad(Pbuh)is the first to identify dreams of three kinds: good, bad, and subconscious dreams. While the last two are meaningless and not liable for analysis, the good dreams(or Prophetic dreams), being real messages from our Lord, need, however, careful interpretation. While in the West, dream analysis is merely based on speculation, in the Islamic tradition, on the other hand, it is considered a real 'science' well entrenched in History marked by well-known dream interpreters with 100% accuracy.
