Ellen was my great Auntie! Loving and caring as was her sister Jennie, my grandmother! She and her family moved from Minnesota to California for a better health environment for her ailing brother, in the early 1900's.

Ellen was one of four siblings, raised in Pine City, Minnesota. Ellen became a stenographer, her sister a teacher, one brother a lumberman and the other brother a carpenter.

There was only one child born to these four siblings, my mother or so we thought! You see her brother left home, escaping to a better life, he hoped! Unfortunately he disappeared in 1914 never to be heard from again, despite my Auntie Ellen's prayers and my grandmother's search.

I found him through genetic genealogy. There were cousins in my mother's family line where there should not have been!
